Chelsea and Westminster Hospital improve their disaster planning
DCS have been awarded a long term contract with Chelsea and Westminster Hospital to scan and convert all of their site information into digital format and implement a site wide accessible FileStore EDM solution for instant access of estate management information.
In 2004, Chelsea and Westminster approached a number of potential suppliers to help them get their site records into a common digital format, which any member of their facilities team could access from site or even from home over a standard internet browser.
The objective of the project was to offer a faster response in the event of a site emergency and to better preserve estates information in a single location/form rather than as hundreds of paper drawings.
DCS won the project under open tender and have now rationalised a varied set of paper, CAD and scanned site information into a single, quickly accessible and secure information management database.
As the FileStore database uses a standard web browser to access it any user can now view information from any site PC without the need to have software pre-configured. This allows engineers to get instant access 27/7 to important asset data.
