Information Management Effectiveness is Viewed as Critical by 89% of Organizations

Findings based on a survey conducted in February 2009 of 400 executives who “order, recommend, approve, or initiate computer hardware or software decisions”  have shown that 89% of organisation view the effectiveness of information management as critical to the business.

This highlights the importance of information management to a business or organisation even in times of credit crunch or recession. This is the case for both businesses and large not for profit organisations.

Information can be in various forms – both the obvious documents and files but also the way in which information is moved around an organisation.

A proper document management and records management system will help a large organisation become more effective. To do this right large organisations seek out solutions and providers which meet the ISO 15489 Records Management standard.

Effective information management in 2009 is more than just online document management. Forward looking companies are including business process management or workflow within their information management planning.
